The first thing you need to do is get in rhythm with the music. When you are feeling the beat, you and your partner are ready to go. Start out by moving your left foot to the rear and left. Rock up on your left heel and move your right foot back. Move you right foot forward again and then pull the left foot up tight to it.
You'll need to move to the right for the next Cha Cha step, so you are basically going to replicate the moves, but start to the right instead. Move your right foot forward and to the right. Rock your left heel and then move your foot forward. Step back with your right and then move the left foot tight next to it.
That's it, you just did the basic step to learn how to dance cha cha! Now you may not have understood some of the moves, but they are just basic steps in ballroom dancing. Learning those steps and you will be able to do just about any ballroom dance you can think of. Different combinations will enable you to learn to dance Cha Cha, as well as every other dance you can think of!
