Flowers in Georgia

Cherry blossoms are widely situated in Asian countries such as China, India, Japan, Korea and Philippines. Cherry blossoms or its Japanese counterpart name Sakura is a pink flowering tree. It is very symbolical and an icon widely used in Japan and China. It is always mentioned in songs, films and lyrical plays where it symbolizes love, beauty and friendship. Cherry blossoms are also found in other countries such as Germany, United States, Canada and United Kingdom.

Sakura or Cherry blossoms in the United States are famously located at the Sakura Park in Manhattan. These cherry blossom trees are gifts given to the United States by Japan to commemorate their friendship back in 1912 which consists of 3,020 trees. They are still well planted in this famous park in Manhattan which turns out to be a famous tourist attraction. Philippine Cherry Blossom is found in Palawan Island.

The Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon, Georgia is an event commemorative to the 300,000 pieces of Yoshino trees in Macon. This town is indeed the cherry blossom capital of America where it gathers locals and tourists from near and far to witness and commemorate this annual event. Clean Grout For the Returning Pet

My dog Rover finally got home from the veterinarian today. You see, for the longest time, the house that I thought was regularly cleaned turned out to have a dark secret. Apparently, the home had a black mold infestation.

Black mold is a type of microscopic fungus that may become airborne and is potentially lethal when inhaled, as evidenced by what happened to Rover. Fortunately for me, the black mold grew in a place I didn't stay in for long periods of time. But, it was one of Rover's favorite places in the house.

Black mold, like all other fungal growths that plague mankind, thrived in moisture. As such, the bathroom was an ideal place for them to flourish, as long as the place is not regularly maintained. But then, I cleaned my bathroom regularly, so it didn't make sense. So I looked into it some more, and found out that as small organisms, they could live even in the grout between the tiles. I've always ignored that part, thinking that it was too small to be an actual danger. I was wrong.

So, long story short, I looked over the Internet for professional grout cleaners. I contacted them, and had them come over to clean up Rover's favorite place (that's the bathroom if you guys haven't figured it out). They did a spectacular job, and soon Rover was back home to a mold-free household.

Rover seems to be feeling a bit sick after his operation. He doesn't seem to be as active as before all this, but if anything he's a lot calmer now, and he does seem to be getting better. I know I'm doing everything in my power to ensure that my faithful doggy companion doesn't get sick again.

Orchid Roots

One adaption in orchids can be found among the epidendrums. The species E. falcatum retains all its weight in the thick, heavy leaves. The root system is not numerous, but s-ong enough to hold a heavy plant firmly in its place on a tree. The pseudobulbs are merely short stems which support the long, spears-lriaped leaves which, rough and hard, will withstand a harsh environment. They are the main source of food supply for the plant.

Only occasionally is a single old leaf shed, their lifespan being for many years. The plant grows from a downward-creeping rhizome and the large green flower emerges from inside the base of the leaf. In cultivation the pendent habit should be retained and regular spraying essential.

All orchids produce roots. There are basically two kinds: aerial and underground. The root structure of orchids is peculiar to them, and all their roots are of a uniform thickness which does not increase with age. The roots will branch, in some species freely. All consist of a central wiry thread which is surrounded by the fleshy, moisture- retaining, part which in turn is coated by the white papery covering, the velamen, which grows as the root extends, leaving only the green growing tip exposed.

Epiphytic sympodial orchids produce their roots from the base of the leading growth at some stage during the young growth's development, and will give it a tremendous boost with a fresh food supply.

In cultivation these roots can he aerial or underground depending upon the angle at which they are produced. Some may grow horizontally and remain as aerial roots until they come into contact with compost when they will grow into it to become terrestrial.

A small group of orchids consist merely of a small crown from which bursts a mass of tangled roots. These species, among them the genus Microcoelia, have roots which produce chlorophyll.
