Costumes
Harry Potter costumes are not that difficult to put together. A formal school look or a gown will do the trick if you have or can make a few signature accessories: the striped English school tie, scarf, wand, round black glasses, and the like, that make up the Harry Potter look. Most of these costumes and accessories are readily available if you search through costume suppliers' catalogues.
And don't forget some face painting for the famous Harry Potter scar.
A Harry Potter Halloween party can be a lot of fun for Harry Potter fans. There is such a lot to do, including watching movies, playing games, visiting sites on the internet, playing charades and much more. You will not find it difficult to keep guests involved with a Harry Potter party theme. Click on this link for further Harry Potter party ideas.
Halloween Witch Costume

Halloween and witches go together, but witches
feature year round in fairy stories, movies, books
and more. Let's take one example. There have been at
least five versions of the Chronicles of Narnia
released as movies. This timeless tale has it all. It
has action, adventure, and heroics. But most of all,
it has mythology. And foremost in that mythology is
that most timeless of villains, the witch.
In this climate, it is no wonder that one of the most popular Halloween costumes is the witch costume. Don't get me wrong. I know that witch costumes have been popular forever. Although their popularity may wax and wain, you are never out of fashion with the witch costume at Halloween. The great thing about witch costumes is that they really push the envelope in terms of what you can wear with the children. Everyone secretly wants to be a ghost or a ghoul, but when you are with young children, you have to be careful or else you might scare them. Although a scarier costume might get you into trouble, you can always get away with a witch costume if you have your heart set on playing a villain. And who does not want to be a villain now and then?
Of course, the witch costume is far from the most clever Chronicles of Narnia costume, but it is the most simple. If you want to make your own costume and have never done such a thing before, you had best stay far away from centaurs and fauns. You will end up at your costume party without anything at all to wear!
The key to a really good witch costume is to not overdo it. This is easier said than done. There is a great temptation to go overboard with the big black hat, several warts, a robe, ugly blunt toed shoes, and the rest. But I always say that if you want to dress like a witch, do it with class. Have a nose that is not too gigantically large, a hat that might just be a woman's hat, and shoes that almost look normal. The best witch costume will make you look like a witch that is hiding out and trying to act like a normal person. That way, people will be all the more excited to spot you and see that you are really a witch. That sort of witch costume will make you much more interesting for all of the people around you.

Colored Contact Lenses

When my daughter and I recently went to get our eyes
checked, my daughter was looking at an advertisement
for colored contact lenses. She
thought it was very cool that you could use contacts
to change your eye color, and she asked me why I
didn't want to do it myself. I explained to her that
I am very happy with the color of my eyes, and I
never really gave it much thought. Even then though,
it could be fun to see what it would be like to have
a different color on occasion. Halloween is one such
occasion, when Halloween contact
lenses would be great fun.
What color you can have if you want to change your eyes with colored contact lenses will depend on your real color. My daughter has dark brown eyes, and with color that deep, she didn't have a lot of options if she were to do that. She's too young of course, but we looked at the chart just for fun. Those with lighter colors can choose almost any colored contact lenses, but those with dark eyes like hers have very limited options.
Whether you want to change your eyes all the time or just for fun, you can do so with the simple use of colored contact lenses. Depending on what you want, you can find choices with almost any eye doctor. If you have green eyes, and would like to try blue, you can do it rather easily with colored contact lenses. You can even have a lot of fun on Halloween by having each eye a different color, or you can have special Halloween costume contact lenses that might make it look like you have green cat eyes or even no eye color at all.
You can usually find colored contact lenses at any eye doctor, or you can use your prescription to find them online. You might save some money if you look online, but make sure you are getting a quality contact. You may think of them as cosmetic, but if you need vision adjustment, it is essential that your colored contact lenses are just as good as the ones you would normally wear. If you get some with no prescription just for the change, and you normally donít need vision correction, remember that it might take some time to get used to them, and that you have to care for them as if they were prescriptions. Your eyes are still at risk from bad habits just as they would be if you were wearing prescription lenses.

Glow In The Dark Necklaces

Parties
Seeing the hundreds of colored glow sticks being
waved at a Disney World light show long ago has stuck
in my mind as a wonderful experience. Children are
always fascinated by things that glow in the dark. My
girls love glow sticks, black lights, glow in the
dark necklaces, and anything else that can glow.
Their bedroom ceilings at home are covered with glow
stars arranged in patterns that depict the different
constellations. It's an amazing atmosphere at night.
Glow in the dark necklaces, after all, are still a staple of the rave scene. If you go to a glowstick rave, you will know what I mean. There are people everywhere with these things. They even put glow sticks inside of their mouths so that when they open them, it will glow. It can get silly at times, but it really adds a lot to the party. It gives it an ambiance that it wouldn't otherwise have.
Now that I have kids of my own, I give them glow in the dark necklaces whenever I have the chance. I take any excuse. On Halloween, each of them get a glow in the dark necklace. On the fourth of July, the same thing. I think that their love of glowing things is every bit as strong as mine. Not only do they like the glow in the dark necklaces, but they adore pumpkins. They will carve jack-o'-lanterns all year if I let them!
I like glow in the dark necklaces so much, in
fact, that I actually buy my own in bulk. I love to
have parties, you see, and I think glow in the dark
necklaces make great party favors. A lot of my
friends think that I am silly, but they are convinced
by the end of the night in the wisdom of my ways. You
see, I have a big house and we have some great
bashes. Everyone gets all kinds of glowing party
favors, and when we turn off the lights and turn on
the black lights, everything in the house glows. I
even give out shirts with hidden messages written in
glow-in-the-dark ink. Everyone gets a different
message, and it is fun to let them discover it on
their own.
