States like Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania and North Dakota have the strictest level of home school requirements. They have the greatest monitoring of educational progress, which includes regular testing and evaluation. In addition, the school district must approve proposed curricula. In some cases teacher qualification of parents and some in-home visits may be required as well.

Although home schooling may prove to be a wonderful choice for some families, it is one that should not be taken lightly. It is a great responsibility as well as a great option for your family. First tip on how to generate ideas is to do something outrageous. You'll get the blood pumping and you will feel completely different. If will put you in a different state of mind. For children to adjust to life without their parents living together, the adults need find a way to relate to each other in a calm manner. Discord, including arguing, name calling, or other forms of disrespect can be very upsetting to children, and teaches them inappropriate ways to communicate. Parents who maintain a cordial relationship teach their children that even if you disagree with someone, you can still get along. This will go a long way to helping the children cope with the huge life changes they are going through. Your efforts to minimize your children's' discomfort will have lifelong rewards.

The way you communicate your decision to separate is of utmost importance. Both parents should sit down together with the children and speak frankly about what is going on. The children have a right to understand the situation, although they do not need to know every detail about what brought you to this point. Speaking to your children in a forthright manner about the divorce will help them to continue to feel part of a family, even if the logistics of the family are changing. By remaining "in the loop", children will feel more confident that they can cope with the future.

Part of helping your children to feel stability is the development of routines that work for both parents and the children. A schedule to which both parents commit will help the children cope with a future that will sometimes feel unsure. Parents should try to stick to the agreed upon schedule so that children can feel valued and maintain their own sense of order. By staying involved in this way, your relationship with your children will grow immeasurably.

Making peace is a process that takes time and requires a lot of effort. Making peace puts everyone involved at ease. Sometimes it is best to get help from a therapist, a counselor, or a clergy member. Whatever it takes to gain civility; it will go a long way to calming the situation down and making the transition much easier.

Children should be the number one consideration in a break-up. As parents you are responsible for the experiences they go through. The scenes they see will have a lasting impression on them and will form their behavior. If you can manage your personal differences with your ex-spouse in a mature and calm manner, it will make a big difference to your children's ability to accept the situation. Put your best foot forward and exercise self-restraint at all times. Do everything you can to assure your children's safety, security, and comfort in this difficult situation. Your success at this will reverberate throughout your children's lives.

Many times when people go on vacation they end up bringing their children, which, at times, may prevent them from having a restful vacation at a secluded resort! In fact, most people have the idea that their vacations should be childless!

Many times when people have kids, they always think twice about bringing their children with. However, there is a way to have a non stressful vacation along with having your children. In fact, there are many tips that can be followed to have a great and fun vacation.

The best part of going on vacation with your children is being able to plan it with them! In fact, it is very important to allow your children to get involved!
Rather than bringing stuff that will weigh you down, rent the things that you need once you get to your destination; such as strollers and diapers. Also, remember to pack any medication that is needed as well as bringing a first aid kit.
You will most definitely want to bring things for you children to stay busy; such as their favorite toys. However, you will not want them reading books as that may cause motion sickness.
If you are going in a car, you will want to remember to always wear your seatbelt. Also, you will want to remove anything that is "extra" that is on your dash; as it might fall and cause you to get into an accident. Always use your better instinct when being in a vehicle!
Many times children will complain of having headaches or getting dizzy while in a car, boat or ship; which in most cases is motion sickness. If you are in a vehicle you can usually prevent that by stopping often or opening the windows. Otherwise, you can have them take anti-nausea medication.
Another problem that many children get when traveling is dehydration. However, you can avoid that by allowing them to drink plenty of water. Also, you will want to stay away from raw vegetables and fruit, street foods, rare cooked meat, and also sea foods.
When it comes to children, many of them are rather picky! It would be a quick fix if you carry foods that they like. Also when going out to eat, don't make them try new things; many restaurants have special menus for children.

The most important thing to learn when going on a vacation with your children is patience! Of course you will have some bad moments, but there will be many more good ones!

Going Green in simple terms

Although, "going green" strategies have gained much popularity in recent years, many people still wonder what the big fuss is all about. The majority of consumers are not ready to make changes.

It is very difficult to make a change unless you understand that "going green" is not a change after all, it's just going back to basics.

My family and I have been eco-friendly all our lives. Funny enough though, we didn't do it for the environment, we did it for our pockets. We couldn't afford to be wasteful and abuse on our resources.

Going Green takes no effort after all. All we need to do is mimic the ways of our parents or grandparents. If we think about how things were done 20 years ago, you'll realize "going green" efforts is nothing new. Going back to basic practices can make such a difference in our environment and in our pockets.

Growing up, my father will constantly reprimand us for leaving the TV on while not in use, or not turning off the lights when leaving a room. The air conditioning was like gold; it was a sin to leave the outside door open for more than 3 seconds. "The Cheap king," we will call him. We don't call him that anymore. He was right. We need to preserve. Just now, it's not so much about money, but to save the planet.

My mother used to line dry, as it was too expensive to use the dryer. The dishwasher was used as storage space. Paper towels, that was for the rich! We used rags for everything! We had designated rags for cleaning the kitchen, the bathrooms, the glass, and the wood. She's probably still using the same rags. I don't think my parents ever bought plastic tupperware, as they will just reuse empty jelly jars or other glass containers for storage. Disposable diapers, absolutely not! I don't think that was even available.

I am very proud to have grown up in a humble household. I learned that we shouldn't take advantage of our resourses and that there really isn't a need for some of the modern advances. There are always alternatives and less expensive solutions. More importantly, for me, there are "greener" solutions. We are in a world of "disposable" things. Disposable diapers, bibs, plates, water bottles, utensils, etc... We need to really think about the small things we can eliminate in our lives that may really not take much effort just a little bit of thought.
