Should Children Wear an Athletic Mouthguard?

For most kids springtime brings an increase in sporting activities, which in turn increases the number of incidences of injuries including to the face and mouth. Properly fitted mouthguards have been shown to provide protection against trauma and injuries to the mouth and teeth. It has also been proven that the use of custom-fabricated mouthguards decreases the incidences of concussions.

Be it a pickup basketball game or organized sports, children participate in activities where trauma to the face may occur at any time. However, there are only a few amateur sports such as football, boxing, ice hockey, men's lacrosse, and women's field hockey that make wearing a mouthguard a strong suggestion. Boxing is the only professional sport that requires the use of mouthguards. It is Interesting to note that the sports that have the highest incidence of tooth loss are basketball and baseball. The games kids are most likely to play.

Kids do not like to wear a mouthguard for several reasons, first it makes it difficult to breath and speak, second the fit and feel is not comfortable and then there is the stigma of not being cool. Type III mouthguards are custom-made from impressions of the mouth. These are considered superior to the others. They afford the most protection because they are closely fitted to the teeth and mouth of the child. Due to the custom fit it is more comfortable, and it is easier to speak with it in the mouth, therefore children's compliance goes up compared to type I and II.

Mouthguards can be designed for the type of sport being played. They are important in preventing orofacial injuries as well as concussions. It is important for kids who participate in sports to protect themselves. There is no reason to risk a lifetime of dental problems when a mouthguard can offer an easy way to protect you.

Children Off to Summer Camp in Minnesota

The North woods of Minnesota is more than the pristine beauty of lakes, forests and eagles flying overhead. To me it's Summer Camp! Swift Nature Camp is so much more than another home with another family, it's a special Minnesota Camp

Why is it so much more? It is filled with encouragement, love, acceptance, and real friends that will be part of your camp memories for life. Your counselors are great people to look up to they act as parents, older siblings and more. You may even end up looking at them as siblings. Your Uniqueness is celebrated and Acceptance is everywhere. This is what makes Swift Nature Camp place that i can not wait to return to each summer.

Activities are everywhere at summer camp, there is so much to do. Here are just a few: Archery, Swimming, Fishing, Boating, Tubing, and Riflery. You are never bored and active all day long. The counselors help you get better regardless of that your skill level is. All activities are noncompetitive and so we all support each other, rather than worry who is best.

When I think of Swift, I think of trips. I'll never forget the Superior Hiking Trail or going to Ely. What an adventure! I loved the trails, nature, and sights of the forest. It was fun getting to know the other persons that hike with you. The wildlife you see is extremely cool. We saw hawks, bald eagles, deer, ospreys, trout, and carp. This is why I love Minnesota Camps

Life in a cabin is about learning from others and with others. It is becoming a team of understanding. Sure, sometimes we had our fights or minor issues, but almost always they were resolved and we grew closer as a team for them.

I always loved the Nature Center. It is a great place to learn about Nature and the Environment. The Director is always fun and teaches us loads of cool things but its not at all like school. There are all sorts of animals that are fun to observe and hold. One day they even made me feel a little more comfortable when I was homesick.

I'm returning to Swift Nature Camp for all Children's Summer Camp in Minnesota.

It's got a style that lends itself to a whole variety of furniture pieces. It won't look very out-of-place in any home. And the wood quality is good to have, in my opinion, instead of large hunks of plastic.

The standard chair comes with the wood seat only so you'll probably be interested in getting a nice cushion. They have a number of patterns and options. Theres also a Baby Set which has the bucket seat and more supportive leg holes. With this chair, there is no food tray. Sounds odd but with this arrangement it is not necessary as the child can really be at the height of most normal tables.

Things To Consider When Trying To Conceive A Boy

All men have in their bodies the sex cells known as the X and Y chromosomes. In order for you to be able to conceive a boy it is the Y chromosome that you need to fertilize the egg. Y chromosomes are fast swimmers and so because of these they may well reach the egg first before the X chromosomes can. But as the acidic PH in a woman's vagina is quite high you need to consider that these sperm are unable to survive very long in it.

Many couples trying to make a bay will arrange to have sex over a number of days in the hope that on one of these days they can create the little boy that both their hearts die. I guess there is nothing wrong with using this method as long as the couples are not too bothered about what their baby is going to be. Also what they need to understand is the sperm is going to released several days before the woman ovulates and so those are carrying the Y chromosome will be weak and will probably die before the egg has even been released.

If you want to conceive a boy, a man is going to have to try his hardest to ensure that their sperm is released on the same day that the woman ovulates. You can now buy an ovulation prediction kit to help you with this. The most accurate of these kits is the ones that you use by testing your saliva. This is extremely important because if you are off just by a day or two, then you are most likely to have a girl.

Also before you try to conceive you need to know the level of Ph in the woman's vagina. If the woman has an acidic vagina then it is not something that male sperm find conducive. For a woman to be able to conceive a boy the level of alkaline in her vaginal tract needs to be high. By douching or eating/avoiding certain foods she can make changes to the acidity in her vagina and to save money she can even make the douches at home.

Another thing that needs to be considered is the sexual intercourse position. To conceive a little boy then the couple need to select an intercourse position which will result in the sperm being much closer to the woman's cervix. Also this often means the level of penetration for both is much deeper. Plus to further improve a couple's chances of having a son the woman needs to try and not orgasm as they make love. I am sure that once the woman has delivered her baby, in the end she will not be bothered whether she has conceive a boy or a girl as long as they are healthy and they have all their fingers and toes.
