Utah Auto Insurance Laws in Comparision With Other States

Car operators in Utah and in all of America must always have their Cars insured. It is their choice of how much coverage to have, but there is a minimum established by Utah auto Insurance laws, and the DMV of every state. The minimums for most states have been set at $25,000/$50,000 and $10,000. This means that if you get in an accident, each person in the other car is covered up to $25,000 with the maximum payout being $50,000, and property damages are covered up to $10,000.

When you are in an accident, as long as your policy is current and hasn’t lapsed your insurance company covers the expenses of the accident up to your level of coverage. However, if the insured has a lapse in coverage due to non-payment or for any other reason the insurance company is not responsible and the driver is 100% liable for the expenses of the accident.

Because it is a large potential problem to be in an accident with an uninsured motorist, the government has gone to great lengths to make sure that drivers get insured and stay insured. In most cases a car cannot be bought without proof of insurance and if caught, fines large fines or punishments can be placed on the driver.

If you live in Utah, you are forced to pay 100% of the damages, and your driver’s license is suspended until you do so. Your driver’s license can be revoked for up to six years! In Michigan, one with insurance is only liable for up to $500, while those who do not have insurance are required to pay for the damages in full.

Perhaps the stiffest punishments are in Texas. In order to get a driver’s license in Texas, proof of insurance is required. If you are caught at any time uninsured you are hit with an initial fine of $350. On only the second offense you can be fined upwards of $1000 and your vehicle can be impounded for up to six months.

The limits of coverage are much lower in California, but this doesn’t mean you can drive without insurance. If you are caught driving without insurance your driver’s license will probably be taken away for at least a year. They also revoke registration on the car until it can be proved that you have insurance. Just like in all other states, you are responsible for paying for all of the expenses of the wreck if you are uninsured.

It is vital that you do not let your insurance coverage get cancelled. Even though it can be kind of expensive to have insurance on your vehicle, the penalties for driving uninsured are always worse. Make sure you get in contact with your Insurance Agent to make sure there is no problem with your insurance. Also when buying a car, consult with your agent to make sure you have enough coverage on your new car and that you can afford it.

We just came back from a cruise vacation with our nine month old daughter. We had a great time on the trip. We did a lot of things very well which contributed to the success of the trip, and there a few things that we will do different the next time so that our next trip will be even more spectacular.

I thought it would be beneficial to other travellers planning a cruise with a young baby to read about our typical day on a cruise ship.

Princess Cruise Line was wonderful to us. They provided us with a very sturdy, clean and safe playpen for our daughter to sleep in. We positioned the playpen out of the way in the small hallway in our cabin near to the cabin’s washroom. Our daughter sleeps very well - her normally waking time is 7 am. When she woke up during the vacation we would give her a quick change of clothes and then the three of us (baby, dad and me) would snuggle in our bed for a while waking up and playing.

After changing her out of her wet diaper and into some dry clothes my husband would put our daughter into her stroller and he would go for a 30 minute walk on the promenade deck of the cruise ship. While they were gone I would have a shower and organize our cabin and pack the diaper bag for the day. When they returned my husband would have his shower and get ready for the morning.

The three of us would than meet at the buffet area of the ship for breakfast. One of us would put our girl into a high chair (again provided by the cruise ship) and the other would go to the buffet to get breakfast.

After breakfast we headed back to our cabin to change into bathing suits and off we would go to the kiddies pool. On our ship young babies are allowed in the kiddies pool if they are wearing a swim diaper.

After swim time back to the cabin for a morning nap for our daughter. One of us would stay in the room while the other took off on their own to explore the ship. We took turns doing this.

When our daughter woke up for her nap we would put her into the stroller and the three of us would walk around the ship together. Back to the buffet for lunch together - more exploring - maybe some more swimming - and eventually it was afternoon nap time.

For dinner we always went to the formal dining room. It was the highlight of the day. We would all get dressed up for dinner, and would head off for a pre-dinner cocktail at about 5:30 and then go for dinner at about 6:00 p.m. Every dinner was spectacular and the service from the dining room staff was excellent. All the staff loved talking to our daughter.

Before going to the dining room we would make a quick trip to the buffet area and pick up a few pieces of fruit to take with us to the dining room for our daughter to eat during dinner.

Once in the dining room my husband and I would order our dinner (the food on Princess is soooo good) and our little girl would eat some of her fruit. We also gave her some small pieces of bread and some other snacks like Yum Yums (that we brought with us).

When our daughter was ready to eat I would feed her a jar of baby food and some baby cereal that was provided by the cruise company. After eating we sat and enjoyed each other’s company as our daughter enjoyed her bottle.

After dinner we went back to our room. Our room did not have a bathtub it only had a shower. We would plug the drain in the shower and run some water into the shower and it was plenty deep enough for our daughter’s bath.

After bath time we put her in her sleepers and we put her back into her stroller and off we would go to a show, to see a comedian, listen to some music, or just walk the ship.

Our daughter would laugh and smile at all the people and the excitement that surrounded her - but it wasn`t long - maybe 30 or 40 minutes before she would fall asleep in her stroller. We adjusted the stroller seat so that she was reclining as she slept.

With our daughter now fast asleep in her stroller my husband and I would continue doing things until we were ready to call it a day. We would back to our cabin, tuck our daughter into her playpen for the night, and then tuck ourselves into bed as well.

Going on a successful cruise vacation takes some advanced planning. For us cruising is a wonderful way to have a stress-free vacation, enjoy our daughter and enjoy being a family.

An easy and fun Christmas tradition is to plant a living Christmas tree in your yard and create a legacy for your family, as you watch the tree grow. For families with plenty of land available, you can plant a tree each year, and even name them for special people, like “Nona’s tree.” Enjoy your decorated tree as the focal point of your living room for a week before planting it, but before you purchase a living tree, consider the full height that this tiny tree will reach.

Noble Fir, Grand Fir and White Pine are classic Christmas trees that can live for a hundred years and reach 60 to 90 feet tall, and thirty feet in width. Is a tree this size appropriate for your yard? If you have a farm with acreage, you are very blessed, and every tree you plant will provide a home and food for wild birds and other critters.

For typical size yards, dwarf Blue Spruce cultivars are excellent choices, with perfect conical shapes and thick foliage. Fat Albert reaches fifteen feet and Blaukissen or Blue Kiss reaches eight feet tall. Zones 2 or 3 to 7. The conifer Chamaecyparis obtusa Compacta reaches ten feet tall, and Aurea 20 feet tall, in Zones 5-8.

Pines do well in warmer areas, and Calabrian Pine, Pinus brutia, has a classic pine tree shape, grows 30 to 80 feet tall, and thrives in heat, drought and wind. Calabrian Pine cannot take temperatures much below zero F. Zones 6-10. This pine and the closely related Eldarica Pine make ideal windbreaks and bird sanctuaries.

All evergreen trees thrive full sun and well-drained soil away from buildings. If soil freezes in your area, to prepare for your living tree, dig a planting hole earlier in the year and fill it with leaves. In cold climates where snow falls and temperatures reach freezing, keep your tree in an unheated garage or on a porch for a few days, to let it acclimate to the warmer temperature of your house.

These trees need cool temperatures, so keep them indoors for only a week, with plenty of light, and away from heaters or fireplaces. Keep the roots moist but not standing in water. In cold climates before planting outdoors, put the tree back on the porch or in the garage for a few days to reaclimate.

So for a fully green Christmas, you could purchase the ideal living tree, light it with LED lights and fill re-usable gift bags with presents under the tree.
